Share lending (Swedish: aktielån) means a shareholder lends shares to a borrower, who undertakes to return the same number of shares of the same kind after a set period. Share lending is most common for listed shares, for example in short selling.
In share lending, ownership of the shares normally passes to the borrower for the term of the loan. In a non-CSD company (kupongbolag), both the transfer and the return should be entered in the share ledger so the ownership picture is correct.

A shareholder is a person or company that owns one or more shares in a limited company.
