An interim certificate (Swedish: interimsbevis) is temporary proof that may be given to someone who has subscribed and paid for shares in a new share issue. It is used before the issue is registered with Bolagsverket and before any share certificates can be issued, and shows the subscriber's right to the shares.
Once the issue is registered, the new shares are entered in the share ledger and the owners' stakes change. A related concept is the issue certificate.

A new share issue is when a limited company issues new shares for payment to increase its capital.
