A redemption date (Swedish: inlösendag) is the day on which a security, such as a share, is redeemed by the company or issuer. In a redemption of shares, timing and redemption amount are set in the general meeting's resolution or in the articles of association, for example through a redemption clause.
A redemption reduces the number of shares and affects the owners' holdings. Once it has been carried out and registered, the share ledger must be updated to show which shares were redeemed.

Redemption of shares means the company redeems and repays certain shares to the owner.
